Sam completed a Bachelor of Commerce (accounting) in 2003 at the University of Ballarat before accepting a position as a tax accountant in Mildura. Following a successful seven years in taxation and business consulting, he took over the role of senior accountant for a Mallee based Primary Health Care consortium. In 2014 Sam returned to Ballarat and joined Sharp Accounting in 2016.
Sam has developed great expertise in accounting software packages and procedures, and brings with him a high level of understanding of a wide range of industries including construction, horticulture and primary health care. He has vast experience with taxation, interim reporting, budgeting and cashflow. He also has specialist knowledge with fringe benefits and salary packaging, in particular with PBIs.
As a senior accountant for Sharp Accounting, Sam’s focus is on building client relationships and developing their business. He has worked on all aspects of business including budgeting, standards compliance and accreditation, finance applications and has developed procedures and supporting documentation to assist with external audits.
Sam and his partner Catherine are Ballarat locals. They keep active by frequenting the gym and walking their 2 dogs. He is an active volunteer firefighter at the historic Ballarat Fire Brigade. Sam likes to involve himself in the Ballarat community and is often raising funds for local charities or participating in community events such as Run Ballarat and the 3BA toy run.
